1 Who may publish
Only an account verified as a publisher may publish a rulebook: the company or person that publishes the board game, or one the rights holder has authorised to distribute its rulebook.
A publisher publishes only the rulebook of a game they publish or are authorised for, as a PDF of the rulebook itself.
2 Licence
By publishing a rulebook the publisher grants the Provider a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to the file in these fields of use: recording and copying it in digital form; storing it in computer memory and on servers; processing it (text extraction, page images, indexing for the Rules Arbiter); making it available to users of the app, so that they can view it and ask the Rules Arbiter about it; and making a copy of it for every user who adds it to a game in their library. The Provider does not use the file to train language models.
The licence lasts while the rulebook is published. For copies users added before a withdrawal it lasts until the user deletes the copy or their account; the publisher cannot terminate it for copies already added.
3 Publisher's statements
The publisher states that they hold the rights needed to grant the licence above, that the file is the rulebook of the game it is published for, and that it contains nothing unlawful. The publisher is responsible for claims of third parties that arise from a file they published.
4 Withdrawal
The publisher can withdraw a rulebook at any time from the game's edit page. It stops being offered at once. Copies users already added stay in their libraries.
5 Reports and removal
Anyone can report an official rulebook with the "Report" button next to it or through the contact page; section 20 of the Terms describes how reports are handled.
When the Provider receives a substantiated notice that a rulebook infringes the rights of others or the law, it may remove the rulebook together with every copy users added from it, and suspend the publisher account.
6 Verification and revocation
The Provider verifies a publisher with the information given in the application and may ask for more. It may refuse an application, and may revoke the publisher status; a revocation withdraws every rulebook of the publisher.
7 Changes to these terms
A new version of these terms has a new effective date. A publisher accepts it before publishing again; rulebooks already published stay under the version they were published with until they are published again.
